As Ombudsman, André Marin has helped expose some of the worst systemic problems in government institutions, sparking total overhauls of Ontario’s lottery and property tax assessment systems – and many other reforms. Both of those investigations revealed just how bad things can get when public agencies forget their primary duty is to the public. Mr. Marin will discuss how the problems start and the challenges faced by government in its quest to restore public trust and accountability.
